Project Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Jr. Project Engineer - High Voltage Testing and Maintenance Services

JOB FUNCTION:
Work Entry Level Project Engineer supporting Senior Engineers and Project Engineers in the following activities:
Inspect and troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
Demonstrate to customers how HMT’s complete electrical testing and maintenance programs will assist them in avoiding dangerous and costly electrical failures.
Establish customer maintenance programs for testing and maintenance of switchgear and transformers.
Prepare project estimates and proposals.
Maintain strong client relationships - perform inside and outside sales activities in support of HMT’s engineering and technical services.
Coordinate, schedule, and direct field work with HMT’s field technicians and with customers.
Serve as project manager for various projects both temporary and ongoing.
Locate and purchase parts and materials for customer work.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate Engineer BSEE required, with electric power emphasis preferred.
Experience in electrical power delivery systems with a utility, major manufacturer, or major facility preferred.
Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems, and good aptitude for problem evaluation.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Organization skills, good judgment, and dependable.
Strong computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research.
Able to write detailed reports and process project billing with few changes.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell. Frequently required to sit, climb and balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move 100-pound test sets.
Valid Driver’s License.
Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work occasional in hot or cold conditions due to weather or customer environmental conditions.
Business dress normally appropriate, although work clothes suitable to the occasion are acceptable.
